Whirlwind Golf
Club is a truly unique southwest golf experience. The course, clubhouse and
teaching center are sensitively designed to preserve the rich cultural heritage
of the Gila River Indian Community. Golf course architect Gary Panks artfully
blends saguaro, palo verde, mesquite and cottonwood trees with native grasses
and rolling terrain to create a challenging, fair and memorable round.
Located just off of Maricopa Road
and I-10, Whirlwind Golf Club offers 18 holes of championship golf at the
7017-yard Devil's Claw course, as well as the new and longer, masterpieces that
will challenge players of all levels while maintaining playability.
Devil's Claw encompasses 242 acres
of land comprised of 92 acres of turfed area and 150 acres of native landscape
enhanced by indigenous grasses and plants, and stands of Mesquite, Saguaro, Palo
Verde and Cottonwoods.
Cattail incorporates three lake
features and the 2.5 mile, man-made recreation of the original Gila River.
